ILR 007: Jairus Miller - Jester/Venutian Dancer
Resident Advisor Review
Progressive Sounds Review
"Infamous Light is one of these 'download only' labels, which for all my dislike towards mp3's I cannot take away from the quality here. 'Jester' is a deep tech-house affair that will be ideal for set starters, but the pick of the two here is the Darkside mix of Venutian Dancer with it's plodding style bass line, weird and bizarre sounds and cool percussion. Also check out the previous release, Flexuous 'New Truth EP' for a cool housey vibe."

"I've always been a fan of Jairus Miller's stuff but ive got to admit
that these are some of his best productions in my opinion. I played them both in
the same set .. opened up with my own acapella and then into 'Jester' (After
Hours Mix) .. i like the way its starts and progresses through out the track ,
perfect early on or lateron an an afterparty when the lights are low. Later on
in the set i introduced 'Venutian Dancer' (Darkside Mix) with its dark groove
and vocal snippets , i was asked 3 times the name of the track and have since
passed on the information about the track."

"Nice production work on 'Venutian Dancer', will work very well during peak time of a dj set. Liking the driving basslines
and synth work. 'Jester' - Really liking the synth work that Jairus provided in this track, will work out nicely as an intro track.
Danny Rodrigues, Resurgent Records (Australia)
"Loving the deep house spacey vibe to both mixes here, will definately drop in the early sets around London."

"I usually love Mr Miller's stuff and this sounds as good as most of his output.
'Jester' is the one probably most likely to get a play though."
Cass, Sabotage Systems/Fine/Wall Of Sound (UK).
"'Jester' is def the one on this release. Filled with a good dose of deep weirdness."
Daniel Poli, Suspect Package/Swag Records/Rescue/L-Man/Houshold, (UK).

Martin Villeneuve, Tao/Release Records (Canada).
"'Venutian Dancer' is a really powerful track which could be
incorporated into the stronger part of a set really well..."
