Praveen "PJ" Jayarajan was born in the island nation of Sri Lanka. However, most of his early years of life were spent living in South Africa, before eventually settling in Australia in the late 80s. He is also the founder and brain-child behind ILR. After spending the best part of 3 to 4 years dj'ing and producing in his bedroom studio, in January 2004 he embarked on a new record label model. Amidst the growing trend towards digital music distribution - ILR was born, a digital-ONLY Techno & House music record label. Arguably also one of the world’s first of its type. With just a few releases under its belt and despite criticism and hostility from established players in the industry as well as vinyl purists, the label continues to grow from strength to strength with a growing army of supporters. In July 2005 PJ went on to develop 2 new projects. Firstly, the Infamous Record Pool - a service that enabled independent labels to get valuable and affordable real-time feedback on their latest releases through digital music promotion. This has since gone on to receive full support from some of the world's top labels and djs. And secondly, the Infamous Podcasts - a series of dj sets that utilises the latest trend of online blogging and podcasting.
